UPCOMING EVENTS

TEYSA

With the landscape of Youth Soccer changing to Birth Year rosters, per the released US Soccer mandates, FC EUROPA is pleased to announce a series of Birth Year ID Events in preparation for the 2016/17 season.

These ID Events will give players the chance to experience an FC Europa session and meet the coaches for next season. FC Europa staff will answer questions about the program and methods. ID Events are an opportunity to evaluate the program prior to the spring tryouts and the upcoming season. For dates, registration and more details, please visit www.FCEuropa.org

IMPORTANT UPCOMING US SOCCER CHANGES

As many of you know, U.S. Soccer, the national governing body for youth, amateur and professional soccer in the United States, recently announced two significant player development initiatives for youth soccer –the change to “birth year” registration and modifications to the small-sided game formats for players under the age of 13.

TEYSA, like all other youth club members of U.S. Soccer, are required to implement these changes to participate in national and regional competitions (e.g., State Cups) and leagues. All leagues in which our travel and FC Europa players compete will operate under these new standards. Therefore, as described in more detail below, TEYSA will implement the “birth year” standard starting with our Spring 2016 try-outs.Although intramural and recreational leagues are encouraged to conform to the new U.S. Soccer standards,Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA), the State soccer association of which TEYSA is a member, advised that it will allow for variances for these leagues as needed in the best interests of the game and the children in the relevant areas. TEYSA’s intramural program is organized by grade. We will continue to organize our intramural teams and leagues by grade.
